Pesach Visitors to the Glass Studio!

Shalom! Happy Pesach!  I've experienced my first official Israeli-styled Pesach and it was a lot of fun.  Guy's uncles, aunts and cousins came over to our home studio today since we live near his parents, which is where last nights seder meal was.  (There was lots of singing and carrying on.  I guess next year I'll understand more Hebrew so I'll understand more of what's going on.)  In any case, when everyone came over to our house this afternoon, it was mostly English.  The beads were so interesting to one of Guy's young little cousins, that she finally broke through her shyness to speak English with me and instead let it rip!  It was nice to hear exactly how much English this little girl knows!  She led me to believe over the past few times we've had family get togethers, that she only knew about 10 words in English.  So I'm pleasantly surprised Tamar, if you're reading this! :)

It was nice, too, to be able to share with the family more of what we do with ourselves.   Today a really close family friend was heaping praise on Guy after seeing him demonstrate his art to a roomful of people, then instruct several of them as they attempted to make their own beads in such a skilled and interesting way.  He seriously had the whole room in awe, watching him create.  Including his cousin's two year old son, who happens to be named Guy, too!  I think he was reminded for awhile that he is a really skilled person.  And a person needs to hear that every once in awhile, right?! Not just from his adoring wife.

I'm glad everyone was able to come to our place today and experience a bit of what we try to do around here.  It was so nice to have all our beads and jewelry spread out and inspected by all the big and little hands.  I think the frogs appreciated being let out of their bags for a bit to play!  And some pieces found groovy new homes in Eilat, Jerusalem and the North.  A great day in the life of a glass bead artist!

I'm loving the new colors Guy has been combining. This combo of ivory, black, clear and baby blue is so refreshing!
